Blackthorn and Willow sits in the centre of Glenarm, halfway between the marina on the coast road and Glenarm Forest. Glenarm is a small village so we are not hard to find! Come and visit us if you have an interest in ‘Arts, Crafts, Books – or Bread’.
Here at Blackthorn and Willow we stock:
Arts: a selection of original art and prints by local artists;
Crafts: beautiful and useful items for the home – for the kitchen in particular – made by local crafts people (jugs, mugs, bowls and jars from local potters; glassware; willow baskets; bread and cheese boards; napkins and tea towels; felted tea cosies and cafetiere warmers; aprons, cushions and table mats);
Books: a selection of new books, including some by local authors, and second-hand books, with a focus on cooking and baking, gardening, nature and wildlife, as well as a small collection of Irish fiction. We also have an exclusive range of handmade sketchbooks and notebooks.
Bread: every Saturday we sell freshly baked loaves that are baked on the premises. We specialise in sourdough and lightly yeasted breads. In addition to our ‘Blackthorn Breads’, we also stock a good range of locally produced artisan foods including chutneys, oils and vinegars; jams, marmalades and honey; biscuits and cake; teas, coffee, and soft drinks; cows’ and goats’ cheeses; dulse and smoked condiments and chocolate and sweets. We also keep a small amount of Glenarm organic salmon, which is smoked at the North Coast Smokehouse in Ballycastle and we take orders for it (contact us by ‘phone, text or email).
At Blackthorn and Willow you will find unique and interesting pieces: local crafts that make perfect gifts for weddings, birthdays and other special occasions as well as for everyday use.
After browsing the shop, why not sit and relax with a cup of tea or coffee? Here in the old bar, we serve freshly ground coffee and a selection of teas, toasted artisan breads and locally made cakes and biscuits.
