Crafts and Artisan Foods

SPRING 2018 RE-0PENING  — ON SCHEDULE TO OPEN ON WEDNESDAY MARCH 7th

At Blackthorn and Willow, in the centre of the historic village of Glenarm, we stock a selection of beautiful and functional locally produced goods: jugs, mugs, bowls and jars from local potters; willow baskets; bread and cheese boards; pure Irish linen napkins and tea towels; felted tea cosies and cafetiere warmers; quilted throws and table mats, as well as a selection of fine art by local artists.

We also keep a small range of locally produced foods: jams, chutneys, oils, vinegars, biscuits, teas, coffee, granola and dried sea vegetables. We can also supply you with Glenarm organic salmon smoked at the North Coast Smokehouse in Ballycastle. In addition to keeping a small amount in stock you can also order salmon to ensure we have what you need: order by a Saturday (‘phone or send me a text) and it will be ready to collect here the following Wednesday or Thursday.

And every Saturday ‘Blackthorn Breads’ – artisan loaves made on the premises from the finest of ingredients – are on sale from midday onwards.

Blackthorn and Willow is just a few minutes’ walk from Glenarm Forest so –  for those who are heading that way – we sell beautifully carved walking sticks: hazel sticks made in Glenarm and Blackthorn sticks made in nearby Carnlough.

At Blackthorn and Willow you will find unique and interesting pieces many of which are perfect gifts for weddings, birthdays and other special occasions.

After browsing the shop, sit and relax with a cup of tea or coffee: here in the old bar, we serve freshly ground coffee and a selection of teas, toasted artisan breads and locally made fruitcake and  gluten-free traybakes.
