Every year Blackthorn and Willow re-opens in springtime, after a break during the dark weeks and months following Christmas. This year we re-open on 15th March – Saint Patrick’s weekend. As always we will be stocking an interesting and beautiful collection of craft pieces for the kitchen and home – ceramics, woodwork, glassware, textiles; original art work as well as prints and cards; locally produced artisan foods and a selection of new and second-hand books, including works by local authors.
Our regular customers will notice that we have been changing things around: the foods (jams, honey & chutneys; oils & vinegars; teas & coffee; apple juice and so forth) are now displayed on shelves in the ‘cafe’ area at the back of the shop. We also stock cheeses and hot-smoked salmon, which are kept refrigerated in our stockroom – so please ask us for these. And our range of freshly baked artisan loaves are also on sale here every Saturday.
Jugs & pots; mugs & bowls; glasses; cheese & bread boards; aprons, bags, tea cosies & coffee pot warmers and more lovely pieces for the kitchen are in the main shop along with our ever-increasing selection of books, cards and prints.
Our monthly supper club in ‘The Dining Room’ upstairs above the shop will start again in May.
